The system runs, but the house is not cooling

A system that runs without cooling the house is often short on airflow or refrigerant, or the outdoor unit is not rejecting heat. A clogged filter, a frozen evaporator coil, a dirty outdoor coil, or a failed condenser fan can all look the same from the thermostat.

Adding refrigerant to a system that is leaking does not fix the leak. We look for the cause, then tell you whether a repair is the right next step or whether the equipment is far enough along that replacement deserves a look.

The air conditioner will not turn on

A system that will not start can be a thermostat setting, a tripped breaker, a tripped float switch on a clogged condensate line, or a failed electrical part. We start with the controls and the safety switches before replacing parts.

Capacitors and contactors are common summer failures in North Texas because the equipment runs for long hours in high attic and outdoor temperatures. Fan motors fail the same way. Those parts are often a same-visit repair when the rest of the system is still sound.

Compressors and refrigerant leaks

A locked or noisy compressor is a different decision from a failed capacitor. Compressor replacement can cost enough that the age of the indoor coil, the outdoor unit, and the duct system all matter. We lay out that choice before any major part is ordered.

Refrigerant work follows EPA rules. We recover refrigerant, repair the leak when that is the plan, and charge the system to the manufacturer's specification. We do not treat a top-off as a finished repair.

What you can expect on the visit

We ask a few questions on the phone so the tech arrives prepared for a no-cool or no-start call. On site, we diagnose first and quote the repair before work starts. If a second problem shows up, we stop and show you before adding it.

Hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with after-hours and Sunday emergency appointments available. If the equipment is old enough that another repair is a poor use of money, we can quote an AC installation and replacement.
