Furnace Repair in Arlington, TX

Most Arlington furnaces sit idle for months, then have to start on the first cold night. Boost Air And Plumbing repairs gas and electric furnaces. We do not service boilers.

The furnace is not heating

No heat can be a thermostat call, a tripped limit, a pressure switch that will not close, a failed ignitor, or a flame sensor that is too dirty to prove flame. The blower may still run, which makes the house feel like the heat is on when only the fan is moving room air.

We check the sequence of operation instead of replacing parts until something changes. You get the price before the repair starts.

Ignitor, flame sensor, and blower motor

A hot-surface ignitor cracks with age and heat cycles. If it will not glow, the burners never light. That is a common no-heat repair and, on many furnaces, a straightforward part replacement once we confirm the board is sending power to it.

A flame sensor that cannot detect the flame will let the burners light and then shut them off. Cleaning or replacing the sensor fixes that when the sensor is the actual fault. A blower motor that has seized or overheats will stop airflow even if the burners are fine. We measure the motor before condemning it.

Control boards, gas valves, and heat exchangers

The control board is the part that runs the sequence. We replace it when testing shows it is not sending the calls it should, not because a furnace is simply old. A gas valve that will not open is a different fault, and we test it before replacing it.

A cracked heat exchanger is a safety problem, not a tune-up item. If we find one, we will tell you to leave the furnace off until it is replaced or the furnace is replaced. That repair is often expensive enough that furnace replacement is the comparison we put next to it.

What this page does not cover

Heat pumps have their own page for repair and installation. Boilers are not a service we offer. If the house needs a furnace installed or replaced, that quote is on furnace installation and replacement.
