How often should ducts be cleaned?

There is no calendar rule we apply to every house. Cleaning makes sense after construction, when debris is visible in the registers, or when the return and blower are packed with dust. A yearly cleaning is not something we recommend by default.

Will duct cleaning fix allergies?

We do not claim that. Cleaning removes the debris that is in the ducts. Allergies also come from the house, the filter, and outdoor air. If you want better filtration, we can quote a media filter. We will not promise a medical result.

Do you still install UV lights?

Yes, as an add-on at the air handler when you want one. It is quoted separately from duct cleaning. It does not replace filter changes or coil cleaning.

What the cleaning covers

We clean the supply trunks, the return, and the registers we can access, using the system under negative pressure so dust is pulled out rather than blown into the house. The blower compartment and the accessible coil area are checked while the system is open.

Construction dust, a remodel, or a duct that was never cleaned after the house was built are the usual reasons the work is worthwhile. A musty smell can also be a wet drain pan or a dirty coil, which cleaning the ducts alone will not fix.

What cleaning will not do

It will not make an undersized or leaking duct system reach a far bedroom. That is duct repair and sealing. It will not replace a failed capacitor or a low refrigerant charge. If the house is hot, start with the equipment diagnosis.

If the flex is crushed or the boots are disconnected, we will say so and point you to duct repair and sealing instead of selling a cleaning that cannot move more air.

Filters, media cabinets, and UV lights

A better filter, a media cabinet, or a UV light at the coil are add-ons we can install when the air handler is already part of the job. They are quoted on their own. They are not included in a duct cleaning, and they are not a substitute for changing the filter you already have.
